DIY Sugar Scrub: Easy Homemade Recipe for Glowing Skin

Daniella

Why Make a DIY Sugar Scrub?

Sugar scrubs are a fantastic way to exfoliate and moisturize your skin naturally. Unlike store-bought scrubs filled with chemicals, a homemade version lets you control the ingredients, ensuring a gentle yet effective treatment. Plus, it’s affordable, customizable, and perfect for all skin types and you probably have the ingredients in your home right now!

This easy sugar scrub recipe takes minutes to make and leaves your skin silky smooth. Let’s get started!

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup granulated sugar (white or brown)

  • ¼ cup carrier oil (coconut oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil)

  • Optional: 5–10 drops of essential oil (lavender, vanilla, citrus, etc.) for fragrance

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix the sugar and oil until well combined.

  2. Add a few drops of essential oil (if using) and stir.

  3. Store in an airtight container (like a small jar).

  4. To use, gently massage onto damp skin in circular motions, then rinse off with warm water.

Tips:

  • For dry skin: Use coconut oil or olive oil for extra moisture.

  • For sensitive skin: Opt for jojoba oil or sweet almond oil. (The two are my personal favorite for all skin types- light and absorbent!)

  • For exfoliation: Brown sugar is gentler than white sugar.

This scrub is great for softening hands, feet, elbows, and body—enjoy your spa-like treatment at home!

Chemical-free – No harsh additives or preservatives.
